My Favorite Dairy-Free Creamers

August 6, 2017 by Christina Leave a Comment

favorite-dairy-free-creamers

One of the best decisions I made almost 2 years ago was to remove caffeine from my daily intake. At the end of the day caffeine isn’t really needed for the body— queue those people that will defend this with everything they have. Most people insist that they need caffeine to function each day, and sure, you may but that’s only because you trained your body to. I was drinking 2-4 cups of coffee per day and there was no need for it (and let’s be real, most “cups” that we have is larger than it should.) And with every coffee comes creamer… a lot of it. When I cut caffeine I started cutting back on dairy significantly— initially I just drank decaf tea black because I couldn’t find any that I liked.

Fast forward to 2017 and it seems like brands are coming out with dairy-free creamers left and right. Lately I’ve been getting asked what my favorites are so I pulled together my favorites for you. For each of these, I’ve tried every flavor that they have. And now, these can mostly be found at any local grocery store or even online grocery services.

So Delicious Dairy Free Coconut Milk Creamer— Over the past few months this creamer has blown up and is incredibly popular. At first I was only able to find it at TJ’s, EarthFare or WholeFoods but now I can get it just about anywhere. And now it comes in standard pints and larger quart sizes too! If you’re a fan of coconut, this will be your favorite. If you’re not, move down the list. It has a creamier texture, blends well and comes in 3 flavors: french vanilla, hazelnut and original.

So Delicious Dairy Free Almond Milk Creamer— I’m a huge almond and coconut fan so I was pumped to see this. It has a more mellow flavor than the pure coconut milk creamer and is a little bit thinner (like 2% milk.) I barely had to even stir in it. This has 2 flavors: french vanilla and original.

Califia Farms Almond Milk Creamer— We all know how obsessed I am with the unsweetened almond milk so I jumped all over these when I first saw them and they did not disappoint! What is so neat about these is that there’s a portion control spout that keeps you from filling you entire cup with creamer – LOVE! I tried a little sip of each prior to using and seriously so good. Normally I add a drop of honey to my tea but with these I didn’t have too. This comes in 4 flavors: unsweetened, vanilla, hazelnut and pecan caramel (<–perfect for the cooler months!)

Califia Farms Better Half Creamer— This is similar to their almond milk creamer but has a little bit of a thicker consistency and along with that a slightly higher fat content. I’d use these more regularly if they had more flavors. Right now, there’s only 2 flavors: sweetened and unsweetened.

Silk Almond Creamer— To me, this is very similar to the Califia Farms almond milk creamer. These have very little fat content so that’s a plus! This comes in 3 flavors: vanilla, hazelnut and caramel.

Silk Soy Creamer— They revamped the consistency of this and I love it, it’s a bit thicker. It comes in 3 flavors: original, vanilla and hazelnut. Note: I try to limit my soy intake. Most think that soy is incredibly bad for you, but it’s not. This is made from whole soy not isolates. Women however should not drink soy in excess.

Coffeemate Natural Bliss Almond & Coconut Milk Creamer— I’m surprise that Coffeemate didn’t come out with a dairy-free option sooner. Under the natural bliss line falls the dairy-free. Out of all the options, this is typically the cheapest especially when it’s on sale too! This comes in 4 flavors: vanilla, caramel, hazelnut and sweet crème.

Nutpods— This is a favorite of mine, but more expensive. It’s smooth, thicker (like half and half) with a blend of almond and coconut flavors but at the same time cancel each other out so neither are overpowering. This comes in 3 flavors: original, vanilla, and hazelnut.
