Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey (or beef)
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 sweet onion, chopped (about 1 and ½ cups)
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 1 (28 ounce) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (15.5 ounce) light or dark kidney beans
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot or dutch oven over medium heat, heat the oil for 1 minute. Add the ground turkey, peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté until browned and cooked through, breaking up with a spoon as you goabout 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomatoes (diced and crushed) and beans. Add the Worcestershire sauce, paprika, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using.) Give it a big stir. Then, reduce to low heat, cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  • Serve with desired toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado, cilantro, etc.

Notes

  1. Make Ahead Instructions: This chili can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Beans: Any combination of beans work for this recipe. I normal have a ton of kidney beans so that's what I used.
