This air fryer chicken recipe makes the most flavorful chicken from being coated in pantry staple spices. The inside is tender and juicy, with a slightly crispy exterior– you'll never want to make chicken any other way! All you need is 15 minutes and a few basic ingredients!

Ingredients

Units
  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels– you want them as dry as possible on the outside.
  2. Stir the spices and cornstarch together in a medium mixing bowl. Then, add the chicken and olive oil and toss together until completely coated. I find your hands work best, though you can use tongs too!)
  3. Place the chicken in the air fryer in an even layer, giving some room around each piece for air to circulate. Cook for 12 minutes at 400°F until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  1. Make Ahead & Freezing Instructions: This is a perfect make-ahead recipe. Store the cooked chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can also freeze cooked or uncooked chicken for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator– if uncooked, continue with step 3.
  2. Can I use a different cut of chicken? You can, any cut will work– thighs, breasts, drums, wings, but keep in mind that the cooking time may vary. You want the cuts to be roughly the same size for even cooking. The spice mixture works for 1.5 pounds of chicken.
