What Are The Best Apples To Use?

Apples are easy to come by year round, and they can be used in a variety of sweet and savory recipes- from apple cider chicken to apple cinnamon pancake skillet- it's what makes them a favorite in many households! But not all apples are created equal.

When making applesauce you want to use softer apples like Red Delicious, Gala, and McIntosh as they soften up quickly while they cook. These are also ideal when you're making applesauce and don't have a blender or food processor as they will breakdown easily when mashed.
